KDDI has started distribution of VR video “Space Explorers: The ISS Experience” for au Smart Pass Premium members (499 yen per month) to experience the life of the International Space Station (ISS).

Space Explorers: The ISS Experience is a 360-degree VR work created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of humanity’s stay on the ISS, and consists of all four episodes, including the first spacewalk footage. ..

Episode 1, which began distribution on the 16th, is about an astronaut arriving at the ISS and discovering dangers as well as the joy and surprise of living in space.

The production of VR videos involves Felix & Paul Studios, TIME Studios, the US National Laboratory on the ISS, NASA, the Canadian Space Agency, and other space agencies related to the ISS.

According to the announcement, it took more than two years to shoot more than 200 hours and conducted a 17-hour exclusive interview with eight international astronauts. It is the largest media project produced in space that has realized immersive images with high scale accuracy.

The VR video will be distributed from 10:00 am on November 16, 2020 to 11:59 pm on November 15, 2022. You can watch it on a smartphone that supports au Smart Pass Premium VR Player.
